Art Show Opening Pics

The reception was held outdoors since the weather was mild.

Here are some photos taken during the reception for My Circus, My World last Friday at Tres Rebecas. It was the launch of our new endeavor: Arriba Arte Studios. It's all very exciting but nerve wracking too. It's a gamble to be sure. But what isn't, I guess?

It's something we needed to do and all we can do is work our little artist fingers to the bone to make it succeed.

Life is one big adventure ain't it?

Friday Roundup

Art to be up for sale at Tres Rebecas tomorrow.

Busy week here at Rancho Ramirez. Let's see, where do I start? Well, Pammy and I did some posting on our Arriba Arte Facebook page showing some photos of the art opening last week pluswe sent some emails (yawn) of the business variety. Tedious but important. Pammy did most of the work this week since I was sick with a very nasty head cold. That hit me last Saturday laying me out the entire weekend. I just started to feel almost normal these last couple of days.

I did a few Doc Ed shows at Stonewall Flanders Elementary School and at Highland Elementary School. I took cold medicine before my Doc Ed shows and made it through them all. Yay for me!

Oh, and Pammy just reminded me that much of the week was also spent catching up on housework which was sorely neglected the week leading up to the art opening. We blinked and it was the day after and the laundry was piled high as were the dishes. Crazy week.

Now we're planning our next event at Tres Rebecas which is scheduled for next month. I'll be doing a booksigning of the Milagro de Monterrey and exhibit the original art for the book. The exhibit will also include a couple of new pieces of art base on sketches that went unused for the book. The Faz family is certain to be there and we hope you can make it too. It's scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd at 2p.m.

We're still planning on doing classes there too so when you get a chance go to our Arriba Arte FB page or to the Tres Rebecas page for updates on all upcoming classes and events. The links are below. Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Mary Leaky

Today would have been the 100th birthday of Mary Leaky, the world re-known paleoanthropologist who together with her husband Louis made many significant discoveries including the remains of Australopithecus boisei dating back 1.75 million years in Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania. We go back a long way! More info on the wiki link below.

Cool!

Art Show Opening Pics

Here are some pics from Friday evening's opening where I managed to sell two pieces. Very cool! The work will be up for the remainder of the month, so who knows, maybe I'll sell another one. Anything is possible!

It wasn't that long ago when Pammy and I had no where to stretch our artistic muscles. We've been looking around for ten years for the right place and here we are. Thankfully, neither of us every gave up hope.

Next on our "To Do" list is to advertise for the acting classes Pammy will be teaching there and for the Milagro de Monterrey booksigning  which will take place in late March. As soon as the date is confirmed it will be posted.

Lots to do. Fun stuff! Creative stuff! In the meantime, if you'd like to see the paintings up for display and sale at Tres Rebecas, they are open Thursday through Saturday from noon to six or call to set up an appointment to see them on any other day of the week. Go to their Facebook page and ours as well. The links are provided below. Thanks!
